NEWS RELEASE

NaSPA, an IT Association, Reinvigorated with New President and Several New Board Members

(Oak Creek, WI - April 9, 2008) - NaSPA, the Network and Systems Professionals Association, a non-profit organization serving IT professionals, is proud to announce that it has a new president and several new board members, and that it is working on a new business plan to carry the association forward.

NaSPA is now under the leadership of President Shawn Conaway, who is employed by Fiserv as a Senior Systems Architect. Shawn has served NaSPA as an author, a member of the board of directors, and as the President of the NaSPA Education Foundation, which enhances educational opportunities for NaSPA members and the IT community. Shawn replaces Radi Shourbaji as President.

New board members include: NaSPA Director Kathy Ligman, Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Product Marketing Manager for Fiserv VISION, which provides community and commercial banks with a complete online banking solution, Web hosting, and Internet banking services; Bill Elder, NaSPA author and Director, employed with Etovia Systems as a Senior Technical Writer at a Department of Homeland Security work site; NaSPA author and Director Leo Wrobel, CEO of Dallas-based TelLAWCom Labs, Inc. and b4Ci, Inc.; and Keisha (Rokeshia) Robinson, NaSPA Secretary and LAN Administrator at Fiserv. Retained board members include: Gary Jenovai, NaSPA Vice President, recent past president of NaSPA's Milwaukee chapter, and Senior Technical Architect at Kohl's Department Stores; and NaSPA Treasurer Raymond V. Hall of  Raymond V. Hall Training and Consultant Services, who has developed a career using training as a primary intervention for task-oriented and team activities with various groups.

Under the leadership of NaSPA President Shawn Conaway, the board of directors anticipates launching a new NaSPA print magazine. Issues will be highly focused on topics such as Systems Administration, Virtualization, Certification, Storage, and Gadgets. In 2007 NaSPA ceased printing of its flagship publication, Technical Support magazine, and moved articles and other editorial content to its Web site (http://www.naspa.com/). The new board anticipates bringing this valuable member benefit back in the third quarter of 2008.

The board is finalizing a new business plan that evaluates NaSPA's mission, chapter growth, member benefits, publishing opportunities, conferences, and functionality and look of the Web site. As part of this rejuvenation, President Shawn Conaway says, "Local chapters are the core of NaSPA's existence. A healthy organization will have an abundance of chapters."
