ACCORDING TO WEBSTER:
en·tro·py, (noun):
1: a process of degradation or running down or a trend to disorder
2: CHAOS, DISORDER, RANDOMNESS
3: The inevitable force governing file organization on the average desktop PC
Well, that last definition isn't actually in the dictionary, but I think most PC users would say it should be. Document counts on today's average PC reach into the five or even six figure range fairly routinely,
and 100-gigabyte hard drives are commonplace. So, it's no surprise that even the most disciplined user struggles to keep things tidy.
